SOLAR ECLIPSE IN MARS BY VÍCTOR AND JOSE MARÍA

        SOLAR ECLIPSE IN MARS

BY: VÍCTOR FERNÁNDEZ and JOSE MARÍA DE INZA

The exploration robot CURIOSITY has captured some images of a solar eclipse in Mars in the moment that the biggest satellite of the red planet, Phobos, was interpose between Mars and the Sun. It last only for three seconds, and Phobos can´t cover all the surface of the Sun, it do a ring of light. The Sun is very big, and Phobos isn´t as big as the Sun, so that´s the reason Phobos couldn´t cover all.
Curiosity take a sequence of 89 images.

It was the last 20th of August of this year, also, it happens at the morning, about the 11:00 of the morning, it happened in the place where the NASA robot was exploring Mars. Mark Lemmon have said that is the most similar total eclipse that can be seen by the planet. By other part, the observators were very surprised, because it has passed very near of the center of the Sun, before that, the astronomers have predict it. Now, we are going to see a video about how was the eclipse.
