Discovered a planet similar to the Earth 

The planet, found with NASA spacecraft Kepler, is the first of the more than 500 known exoplanets is definitely rocky like Earth, Mars , Venus or Mercury , according to the study. Kepler , launched in March 2009 , was designed to hunt like planets potentially habitable Earth.

Astronomers have studied Kepler- 10b since its discovery in 2009 when the team detected a periodic weakening of the brightness of the host star as the planet passed in front of that star .
