Eclipse " Spaniards " made history
In the summer of 1905 , Spain , which at that time had nearly 12 million total illiterates of a population of 18.6 million , became the world's scientific capital, even for a few days . Everything was due to the calculations of astronomers who predicted that our country would be the place where more time could observe the total solar eclipse of that year , three minutes and 45 seconds, beating the two and a half minutes that lasted Peninsula Labrador ( Canada) and Egypt.
